AI literacy is not enough

AI literacy is increasingly treated as the answer to almost every problem around AI: teach people how the systems work, how to use them responsibly, how to check outputs, and how to keep up.

But understanding a system does not give you power over it. You can know exactly how AI works and still have no say in whether it is introduced, what happens to the productivity gains, who owns the infrastructure, or who carries the risk.

This session is about the gap between literacy and power, and why education without agency can easily become another way of teaching people to adapt to decisions already made for them.
